Natalie is an experienced Court of Protection solicitor, with experience in a wide range of health and welfare disputes. She is an Accredited Legal Representative via the Law Society, a qualification which recognises Natalie’s expertise in this area, as well as her experience in communicating with vulnerable adults. She is also ranked in Chambers & Partners for the past 2 years as an ‘Associate to Watch’ where she is described as ‘thorough, compassionate and hard working’.
Prior to joining CJCH Solicitors, Natalie worked for a national law firm where she acted on behalf of protected parties via independent mental capacity advocates and the Official Solicitor. She also acted for family members who are parties to proceedings.
In addition, Natalie has acted for health boards across Wales. This experience has equipped Natalie to advise her clients fully from all aspects of the case. During her time in acting for the NHS in Wales, Natalie represented a Health Board in one of the first COVID-19 vaccine disputes in the High Court.
In terms of her wider experience, Natalie has a keen interest in educating professionals. She has provided training to health and social care professionals, as well as independent mental capacity advocates. Natalie also took part in a project organised by Birmingham University which involved working alongside those with a learning disability in order to create legally accessible information. Due to Natalie’s enthusiasm for this area of law, she has recently completed a Master’s degree via Cardiff University called Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, with one module focusing on capacity and consent to treatment.
