Amy established the Court of Protection department at CJCH Ltd in 2014, following her specialism in the area of Human Rights Law. The focus of Amy’s work throughout her career has been to fight for the rights of adults with mental health diagnoses.  

Amy has represented clients since 2008 in the areas of Mental Health Law and Mental Capacity Law and is a director at CJCH Ltd with overall responsibility for the mental health and Court of Protection departments. 

Amy has been involved in cases that have helped to shape the law in England & Wales in relation to mental capacity. Amy has been ranked in the leading legal directory of Chambers UK Guide in 2024 and 2025 as ‘Up and Coming’ and is classed as an ‘outstanding advocate in her field’.

In 2018 Amy was recognised by the Wales Online ’30 young lawyers to watch’ as making her mark in the legal industry. 

Amy regularly acts on behalf of the Official Solicitor, for professional Relevant Person’s Representatives (RPR) and families. 

Her expertise in mental capacity law is recognised by her appointment as an ‘Accredited Legal Representative’ by the Law Society.

As a first language Welsh speaker, Amy has also represented clients before the Court of Protection through the medium of Welsh.

Amy is a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association and Vice Chair of Court of Protection Practitioners Association Cymru (CoPPA Cymru)
